Time is of the Essence! Complete Your License Law Transition Requirements and Let CommercialForum Help
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 29, 2011
Changes to Illinois license law require all real estate professionals to transition their licenses by April 30, 2012. Commercial brokers are no exception! CommercialForum, a division of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, stands ready to help you succeed. Turn to CommercialForum to plan your path to a seamless transition and complete your required proficiency exam and continuing education. Options include:
- Pass the proficiency exam only – with or without a prep class. The state’s deadline for this option is March 15. If you are an agent transitioning to broker, you must also complete an 18-hour Continuing Education requirement by April 30. If you are a broker transitioning to managing broker, the CE requirement is 30 hours by April 30, 2013.
- Enroll in a more in-depth transition course and pass the exam by April 30. The in-depth course – 30 hours for agents transitioning to brokers and 45 hours for brokers transitioning to managing brokers – does not require additional CE by April 30.
Don’t get left behind! Brokers who fail to complete their transition by deadline will not be licensed to serve clients. CommercialForum courses are offered at several teaching centers across Chicagoland; online learning and self-study options are also available.
