Government Affairs Forums

Raise your voice and protect your business by attending the 2014 Government Affairs Forums. Forums feature:

  • Legislative Updates
    Learn about the issues you need to be following and what C.A.R. and IAR are doing to advance you and your clients’ interests through legislation. This is also your chance to provide valuable feedback to C.A.R. advocacy leaders.
  • Elected Officials
    Hear an update from prominent elected officials (when available). Share your questions and concerns in an intimate setting where you and your representatives can get to know one another.
  • Networking
    Network with REALTORS® and property owners who share your similar issues and interests.

The C.A.R. Government Affairs Forum will welcome Laurence Msall, President of the Civic Federation. Mr. Msall will discuss property tax issues that are scheduled to hit Cook County in 2015. Mr. Msall also currently serves on the advisory Board of the University of Illinois Institute of Government and Public Affairs and Illinois Issues Magazine. He is also a member of Lambda Alpha, an International Land Economic Society; the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Civic Consulting Alliance; among other organizations. The presentation will be followed by a short Q and A session with attendees.

Government Advocacy Forums are open to all C.A.R. members, Government Advocacy Forums focus on speakers, member involvement and information sharing related to government advocacy, public policy matters and related civic matters.
