Panelists

Born in Guangdong, China, I was just a young child when I immigrated to the United States with my family in pursuit of a better life.

After college, I became an Emergency Department Scribe and supported ER physicians by transcribing their notes from patient exams. I thought I wanted to attend medical school until I quickly realized the severity of my intolerance to odors. For the next couple of years, I worked in healthcare administration at Northwestern Medicine. When I felt the itch to grow again, I applied to a Master of Science in Social Entrepreneurship program at the University of Southern California. Living in Los Angeles presented a new set of challenges as I worked on
finding my place in the world. It was a time of enthusiasm, freedom, rebellion, and pain.

After earning my degree I moved back to the Chicagoland area to be with family and worked in healthcare technology and then auditing. As a stepping stone to entrepreneurship, my family and I opened a large restaurant. It quickly reminded me of my childhood days at the takeout place, only tenfold. I knew it wasn’t for me long-term, so I obtained my real estate license to have an extra skillset. We were already in the process of selling our restaurant when COVID-19 hit. Once the sale closed, I became a full-fledged REALTOR®. And I guess this is where they say the rest is history.

buyers, sellers, developers and investors. Dealing in new construction, renovations and existing

She became interested in real estate while working as a loan processor, regularly
communicating with buyers, attorneys and agents. During the 2008 recession, she saw an
opportunity to try something new after more than a decade in the mortgage industry. She earned
a real estate license and fell in love with the personal interaction aspect of the industry.

Keisha is currently a student of the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Leadership Accelerator as
well as a committee member of the group.
