Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) Designation

The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) Designation is designed for brokers who focus on working directly with buyer-clients. In today’s rapidly changing real estate market, the ABR course content will prepare you to better understand and demonstrate your value to today’s buyer, acquire skills and resources to succeed as a buyer’s agent and to help your buyer find the right place at the right price with the right terms. The ABR® Designation will equip you to:

  • Understand the motivations, wants, and needs of a buyer.
  • Articulate a value proposition as a buyer’s agent.
  • Set expectations about your services with buyers.
  • Prepare for your initial session with a prospective buyer.
  • Earn the buyer’s trust and secure a signed buyer representation agreement.
  • Assess your buyer’s needs and educate them about the market.
  • Educate your buyer about the offer process.
  • Conduct a market analysis to understand your buyer’s negotiating position.
  • Help your buyer to formulate an informed and competitive offer and negotiate with the seller.

Earning Your ABR Designation

The first step is successful completion of the two-day Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) Designation Course. After, you will have three (3) years in which to complete the other ABR® designation requirements. Learn how to earn your Accredited Buyer’s Representative designation.
