In honor of Black History Month, join CAR for a celebration highlighting the game-changing accomplishments of African Americans throughout the city. This event will discuss opportunities to increase the black homeownership rate and how we can contribute to this important sector in our industry. We will also honor and acknowledge industry leaders, public officials and community activists for their positive impact and influence.
We’re pleased to be joined by Ben Slayton, a 53-year veteran of the mortgage industry.
Ben is the president of Legacy Home Loans, a new division established to help increase the homeownership rate of African American throughout the United States. He is the publisher of Mortgage Compliance Magazine, a publication 100% focused and dedicated to the mortgage industry’s in-house legal counsels, regulatory compliance, risk management, quality assurance and loan servicing compliance professionals, as well as Mortgage Women Magazine, dedicated to the empowerment and advancement of women in the mortgage industry.
Slayton co-founded the Quality Control Management Assurance Corporation (QC-MAC) and was previously the Managing Director of Western Bank. He was one of the first Black REALTORS® in the U.S., the first Black owner/broker of a CENTURY 21 franchise, the first Freddie Mac Multifamily Program Plus Seller/Servicer in the U.S., and a member of the Alterra Group, LLC, Board of Directors.
