As of January 1, 2023, “Source of Income” (SOI) has been added to the list of statewide protected classes under the Illinois Human Rights Act. The new state law bans discrimination in housing based on the source of income, including housing choice vouchers. While the state law does not change Chicago’s existing protection on SOI, it confirms the need to better understand the law and ensure compliance of housing providers.

We’ll break down how this impacts all property owners, your business and clients – as well as how to avoid a hefty fair housing violation fine.

In the meantime, check out our Fair Housing resources!

Please note this event will be hosted as a webinar. Attendees will be able to view our participants during the event but will not have the ability to share their video or audio during the event.
