Registration will close on Tuesday, February 2, 2021
As we continue our Race in Real Estate series, we welcome WBEZ reporter Natalie Moore to discuss the impacts of discrimination on our Chicago neighborhoods and her book The South Side: A Portrait of Chicago and American Segregation.
This fireside chat, moderated by president Nykea Pippion McGriff, will discuss themes such as:
- Segregation in Chicago
- The effects of gentrification
- The ongoing housing crisis for black and brown America in Chicago
- Lending and appraisal disparities and inequality
- Ways REALTORS® can make a difference in racism within real estate
Natalie Moore covers segregation and inequality for WBEZ. Her enterprise reporting has tackled race, housing, economic development, food injustice and violence. Natalie’s work has been broadcast on the BBC, Marketplace and NPR’s Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Weekend Edition.
