Under her leadership\, the DPD has:  \n\n\n\n\nAdvanced “Missing Middle” housing solutions\n\n\n\nAccelerated office‑to‑residential conversions downtown\n\n\n\nStreamlined development processes\n\n\n\nAdministered proactive rezoning efforts\n\n\n\nPromoted inclusive\, equitable growth\n\n\n\n\nREALTORS® will gain valuable insights into key trends\, regulatory shifts and partnership opportunities shaping the City of Chicago’s housing market. \n\n\n\nWHAT IS A “GAD”?\n\n\n\nYour Chicago Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs Director (GAD) is your direct link to what’s going on with real estate legislation\, policies and advocacy initiatives. This is your opportunity to understand how policy is being crafted and what the GAD is doing at City Hall and the Cook County Building.  \n\n\n\nBRING YOUR QUESTIONS\n\n\n\nWe want to hear from you too! Coffee with Your GADs encourages two-way dialogue. Come and share what you’re seeing in the market and issues of concern! Please note this will be an interactive and collaborative event among all attendees. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate by having their video turned on throughout the event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Speaker\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n CIERE BOATRIGHTCity of Chicago Department of Planning & Development Commissioner \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCiere Boatright was appointed commissioner of the Chicago Department of Planning and Development (DPD) in November 2023 by Mayor Brandon Johnson. \n\n\n\nAn experienced real estate and economic development executive\, Boatright is responsible for leading DPD’s economic development\, planning and zoning functions while promoting inclusive\, equitable growth across the city. Priorities include the transformation of City lots as “Missing Middle” housing\, office-to-residential conversion projects downtown\, pro-development re-zoning of neighborhood commercial corridors\, grant making for neighborhood businesses\, and development process efficiencies through Mayor Johnson’s Cut the Tape initiative. \n\n\n\nBoatright was formerly vice president of real estate and community development at Chicago-based real estate firm CRG\, overseeing some of the company’s highest-impact real estate projects\, and vice president of real estate for Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives\, managing the planning and development of new projects on the South and West Side. \n\n\n\nLocal business publications have named her among Notable Women in Commercial Real Estate\, 40 under 40\, Notable Black Leaders and Executives\, and Notable Executives of Color in Construction and Commercial Real Estate. \n\n\n\nBoatright holds a master’s degree of urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s in psychology from Hamilton College. \n\n\n\nA Chicago native\, Boatright resides on the South Side with her husband and two children. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Policy\n\n\n\nSpace is limited for this virtual event.   \n\n\n\nBy registering to participate in this event\, you hereby acknowledge and consent that The Chicago Association of REALTORS® (and their assignees) may record you during the event and may use those recordings for the Association’s purposes\, including but not limited to news\, publicity and fundraising purposes\, without further compensation to you.
