Professional Recording Policy at Events, Classes & Association-Hosted Functions
The Chicago Association of REALTORS® is committed to fostering an environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and professional development at all our events. To ensure the privacy, security, and integrity of our speakers, attendees, and content, the association has implemented the following policy regarding professional recordings at our events:
- Restriction on Professional Recordings: Professional recordings, including but not limited to audio, video, and photography intended for commercial purposes, are strictly prohibited at the Chicago Association of REALTORS®’ events without prior written authorization from the association’s leadership. If approved, explicit permission must be obtained by any event attendees included in the documented recording with a clear explanation of what the recording will be used for.
- Definition of Professional Recordings: For the purposes of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®’ events, “professional recordings” are defined as any audio, video, or photographic recordings made with the intention of commercial use, distribution, or public dissemination. Professional recordings typically involve the use of specialized equipment, including but not limited to professional-grade cameras, microphones, or recording devices, and are often conducted by individuals or organizations for profit or promotional purposes.
- Non-Professional Recording Guidelines: Attendees are welcome to capture personal memories of the event through non-professional means, such as smartphones or personal cameras, provided that such recordings are used for personal use only and do not disrupt the event or infringe upon the rights of other attendees or speakers.
- Intellectual Property Rights: All intellectual property rights related to Chicago Association of REALTORS® events, including but not limited to presentations, speeches, and materials, are owned by the association and/or its speakers. Unauthorized recording, distribution, or reproduction of such materials is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
By attending the Chicago Association of REALTORS®’ events, attendees acknowledge and agree to abide by the terms of this Professional Recording Policy. The association reserves the right to update or modify this policy at any time without prior notice.
