REALTOR® AWARDS
REALTOR® of the Year
The REALTOR® of the Year is the highest and most coveted award that can be bestowed by one’s peers. This award is based on the outstanding contributions of a REALTOR® to the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, the Illinois Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. The recipient must demonstrate what is called “REALTOR® Spirit”, which is embodied by faithfulness to the principles of the REALTOR® organization, professionalism and the Code of Ethics.
Criteria:
- A minimum of 10 years as a REALTOR® with current, active leadership involvement at the local, state and national level.
- Recognized as an industry leader whose performance is exemplary.
- Holds a current, active real estate license and is in good standing with IDFPR.
- Must be a regular investor in RPAC.

REALTOR® Achievement Award
This award is based on the outstanding contributions of a REALTOR® to the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and to the Chicagoland real estate industry.***
Criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years as a REALTOR® with current, active leadership involvement at the local level. Active involvement at the state and national level is a plus.
- Demonstrates positive leadership impacting the local association.
- Holds a current, active real estate license and is in good standing with IDFPR.
- Must be a regular investor in RPAC

Commercial Achievement Award
This award is based on the outstanding contributions of a commercial practitioner to the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and to the Chicagoland Commercial real estate industry.***
Criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years as a CommercialForum member with current, active leadership involvement at the local level. Active involvement at the state and national level is a plus.
- Demonstrates positive leadership impacting the local association.
- Holds a current, active real estate license and is in good standing with IDFPR.
- Must be a regular investor in RPAC

REALTOR® Community Service Award
This award is based on the outstanding contributions of a REALTOR® to his/her local community, as well as being an active member of the local association. ***
Criteria:
- A minimum of 3 years as a REALTOR® with current, active leadership involvement at the local, state and national level.
- Recognized leader in some endeavor in the community.
- Holds a current, active real estate license and is in good standing with IDFPR.

Affiliate of the Year Award
This award is based on the outstanding contributions of an Affiliate Member to the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and to the Chicagoland real estate industry. ***
Criteria:
- A minimum of 3 years as a member of the association in good standing.
- Recognized as an industry leader.
- Recognized for ongoing, outstanding support of the Real Estate community.

REALTOR® Managing Broker Award
Two awards may be given annually, based upon the number of licenses under the direct management of the managing broker
• 1–50 licensees
• 51 and above licensees
Criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years as a REALTOR® Managing Broker in good standing, with current active involvement at the local level (ie. support of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® as demonstrated by Committee participation, and/or support of CAR events and activities within his/her firm)
- High principles of faithfulness to the principles of good real estate practices and the Code of Ethics among other brokers and the public. General reputation for high professional Competence.
- Recognized business accomplishments (i.e. outstanding service to clients and licensees within the firm, creative marketing and/or training programs, innovation, etc.).
- Two letters of recommendation are required with the submission of the nominee.
- An internal letter of recommendation from an owner, licensee or managing broker peer within the same organization/franchise.
- An external letter of recommendation from a real estate related business professional outside of his/her firm.

Brian A. Bernardoni Political Advocacy Award
This award is based on the outstanding contributions of a REALTOR® or affiliate member in the public policy, political and/or legislative advocacy area and in keeping with the REALTOR® Party spirit to “Vote…Act…Invest.”
Criteria:
- A minimum of 3 years as a REALTOR® or Affiliate member with current, active advocacy involvement at the local, state and/or national level.
- Invests annually in RPAC at a minimum of $100
- Regularly participates in the Illinois REALTORS® Capitol Conference Lobby Day
- Other extraordinary volunteerism and/or service in governmental affairs, such as:
- Serving as an SLC (Illinois REALTORS® State Legislative Contact), FPC (National Association of REALTORS® Federal Political Coordinator) or comparable political advocacy liaison role.
- Meetings with legislators, regulators or officials
- Testifying on legislative matters of importance to Chicago Association of REALTORS®, Illinois REALTORS® and/or National Associations of REALTORS®
- Serving on a Public Policy Committee at the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, Illinois REALTORS® and/or National Associations of REALTORS®
- Educating REALTORS® and/or the public on advocacy matters, private property rights, housing and economic development issues.

Industry Partner Member Award
This award is based on the outstanding contributions of a CAR Industry Partner member within their industry partner organization, and to the Chicagoland real estate industry
Criteria:
- Minimum three years in the real estate industry
- Minimum of three years in the Industry Partner organization at time of application
- Currently an active and contributing member to the Industry Partner organization
- Recognized leader in the Industry Partner organization
- Demonstrates positive leadership impacting the local association and beyond
