Chicago REALTORS®’ Past President Leo J. Sheridan Passes Away

Leo J. Sheridan, who served as president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® from 1974-75 and was a member of the board of directors from 1968-74, passed away at 87 years old on October 28th, 2022.

He began his real estate career in 1953 with L.J. Sheridan & Company in commercial real estate. Sheridan was also involved in several other organizations including the National Association of REALTORS® where he served on the board of directors from 1975-79; the 1982 Illinois REALTORS® President; The Recreation Foundation; Chicago Council on Foreign Relations; Chicago City Club; St. Joseph Church; and Catholic Charities Chicago Board.

Sheridan was recognized as the 1983 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year and the Chicago Association of REALTORS® 1990 REALTOR® of the Year.

He is survived by his wife, Olive “Honey” (Fox) Sheridan, five children, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In his honor, a memorial mass was held on November 5th at St. Joseph Church in Wilmette, Illinois. Donations may be made to the John P. Foley SJ Legacy Fund in lieu of flowers.
