Ethics Training Deadline is Dec. 31

REALTORS® are required to complete 2.5 hours of Ethics Training to fulfill their promise of professionalism as made in the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics represents an important transition in the real estate industry in both perception and practice. Before the Code was instated in 1913, the motto of the real estate industry was “let the buyer beware.” After its adoption, the motto was changed to “let the public be served”— and so it has remained even today. Understanding that the Code of Ethics encompasses a REALTOR’S® duties to clients, the public, and other REALTORS®, all members are required to dedicate a short period of time to focus on the history of Ethics in real estate and its relevance to our lives. We’ve made the training convenient for you! REALTORS® may choose between:
  • an online course
  • an online video
  • a class at C.A.R. Central
  • a class at other real estate schools
Here’s a full list of your options. This cycle’s deadline is fast approaching. If a REALTOR® has not completed their Ethics Training requirement, they will face suspension of membership. Remember, taking the Ethics Training course is more than just a membership requirement, it is a tribute to our industry’s journey and our principles.
