Chief Economist, National Association of REALTORS®
Dr. Lawrence Yun is Chief Economist and oversees the Research group at the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. He supervises and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for the association including NAR’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for its 1.4 million REALTORS®.
Dr. Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Wall Street Journal Forecasting Survey. He also participates in the Industrial Economists Discussion Group at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. Dr. Yun has also appeared as a guest on CSPAN’s Washington Journal.
Dr. Yun received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park.
National Director of U.S. Retail Analytics | CoStar Group
Brandon Svec is the National Director of U.S. Retail Analytics for CoStar Group, where he guides the firm’s research and analysis on the U.S. retail real estate market. Brandon has extensive prior commercial real estate experience, most recently as Vice President of Research and Fund Development and Vice President and Director of Due Diligence at the Inland Group of companies. Prior to his time at Inland, Brandon worked as a Due Diligence Analyst at First Allied Securities, where he focused on the review of real estate-focused alternative investment funds. Brandon previously held Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses and received his MBA from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, where he concentrated in real estate finance and investment. As an expert in his field, Brandon is a frequent keynote speaker at commercial real estate events throughout the U.S. and has been quoted in numerous media publications including CNN, Fox Business, the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, the Chicago Tribune, the Business Journal, and numerous others.
