The association’s bylaws were amended in February 2025 to include new training requirements required by the National Association of REALTORS®.
If you are a new member:
You are required to complete two hours of fair housing training within 120 days of joining the association.
If you are an existing member:
You must complete two hours of fair housing training every three years as a condition of REALTOR® membership. The training requirement for existing members will coincide with the triennial Code of Ethics training requirement, which current cycle runs from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.
How can you meet these requirements?
The training requirement can be met in a number of different ways, including completion of NAR’s Fairhaven course, At Home with Diversity course, Bias Override course and other equivalent courses approved by the association. Additional information will be made available later this year once Illinois’ continuing education courses are revised to reflect other required changes by IDFPR regarding fair housing training.
