Help Your Clients to Claim $94 Million in Refunds for Cook County Property Tax Overpayments

There’s $94 million in Cook County property tax overpayments waiting to be claimed. A new website makes claiming the money much easier on your clients when they go to pay their property tax bills online. Taxpayers can now get an instantaneous response for available refunds going back 20 years through the redesigned CookCountyTreasurer.com website. Here’s what to do once on the site:
  1. Click “Your Property Tax Overview.”
  2. Search by address or by 14-digit Property Index Number, which can be found at the top of the most recent tax bill, near the amount due.
  3. Look for the results under “Are There Any Overpayments on Your PIN?”
