ORIENTATION
About New Member Orientation and Ethics Training
All CAR members applying for REALTOR® membership for the first time OR reinstating membership after being inactive for more than 1 year must:
- Complete our Online New Member Orientation training.
- Complete a minimum of 2.5 hours on the National Association of REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
This requirement must be fulfilled within the first 90 days of submitting a new member application. Failure to complete this requirement within the 90 day requirement will result in termination of membership.
The Online New Member Orientation training covers topics necessary for you, as a REALTOR®, to conduct yourself professionally and ethically including Anti-trust, Fair Housing, MRED, Forms and Contracts, building your business, and basics of the Association.
Complete this training to learn about all our member benefits, and discover how your membership works for you! For members who have not been active, this is the perfect time to get reacquainted & updated on all the new benefits and programs to help your business grow!

New Member Ethics Training (No CE Credit)
Tuition: Free (No CE Credit)
Choose from one of the following live webinars to complete your New Member Code of Ethics training. If you are an existing member looking to complete your triennial ethics requirement and prefer a live-instructor course, you may take this course to satisfy your triennial Code of Ethics requirement. (See note above regarding CAR’s Learning Portal.)

Exemption: If you were a member in good standing with another REALTOR® Board/Association within the last year and you completed an orientation program with Code of Ethics of not less than two hours and thirty minutes of instructional time, you are exempt from this mandate. Contact your previous Board/Association for proof of completion of the required orientation and ethics course. In order familiarize yourself with all of the benefits C.A.R. has to offer, we do recommend you complete the online New Member Orientation.
