About New Member Orientation and Ethics Training

All CAR members applying for REALTOR® membership for the first time OR reinstating membership after being inactive for more than 1 year must:

  1. Complete our Online New Member Orientation training.
  2. Complete a minimum of 2.5 hours on the National Association of REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

This requirement must be fulfilled within the first 90 days of submitting a new member application. Failure to complete this requirement within the 90 day requirement will result in termination of membership.

The Online New Member Orientation training covers topics necessary for you, as a REALTOR®, to conduct yourself professionally and ethically including Anti-trust, Fair Housing, MRED, Forms and Contracts, building your business, and basics of the Association.

Complete this training to learn about all our member benefits, and discover how your membership works for you! For members who have not been active, this is the perfect time to get reacquainted & updated on all the new benefits and programs to help your business grow!

Please note the Chicago Association of REALTORS® has a dedicated Learning Portal for all classes and education. If you did not take your pre-licensing with CAR and have never created an account in our Learning Portal, you will need to create one in order to complete your registration. When creating an account in the Learning Portal, choose your CAR Member ID as your Username.
