Under the sparkling lights of the Radisson Blu banquet hall on Wednesday night, the real estate community gathered to honor exceptional members of the Chicago REALTOR® family at the 133rd annual Inaugural Gala. The event included the installation of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® 2016-2017 Board of Directors, and honored several individuals for their contributions and positive influence, among which were the recipients of the REALTOR® Achievement award.
Ginger Downs, Sarah Ware, Zeke Morris, and Vicky Silvano pose for photo on the night of the Gala. Marki Lemons-Ryhal (not pictured) arrived later in the evening.
The REALTOR® Achievement Award recognizes a REALTOR® in good standing with at least five years in the field, who demonstrates positive leadership within his or her local association and is active at the local, state and national levels.
REALTOR® Achievement: Sarah Ware
Sarah Ware is not only the founder and principal managing broker of Ware Realty Group LLC, she is the current president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Chicago Chapter. She sits on the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors as well as the Cook County Land Bank Board of Directors. In 2017, she will serve as trustee of C.A.R.’s Foundation. Having started Ware Realty in 2015 after finding success in The Carter Ware Group in 2007, Sarah has invested personally in real estate as both a landlord and property manager. The recipient of multiple awards such as Top Producer and the C.A.R.’s President’s Award, it is our genuine pleasure to honor her tonight. She is an enterprising innovator and a symbol of passion for real estate and entrepreneurial spirit.
REALTOR® Achievement: Marki Lemons-Ryhal
Marki Lemons-Rhyal is an exceptional leader in the Chicago Association of REALTORS® community. She is renowned locally, statewide and nationally as an outstanding
educator, who has instructed thousands upon thousands of REALTORS® throughout her career. She has served on the C.A.R. Board of Directors and as chairman of the C.A.R. Foundation, and bears the deserving title of Illinois REALTORS® Real Estate Educator of the Year. As a major supporter of education, she is involved in her Chicago Public School’s local school council and been a part of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Marki’s humor and fresh energy never fail to brighten those around her. Among the members of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® she is cherished and admired for her positive impact on the real estate industry.
REALTOR® Achievement: Vicky Silvano
Vicky Silvano’s outstanding contribution to the Chicago real estate industry can best be exemplified by her sharp business acumen and dedication to the Asian Real Estate Association of America (A.R.E.A.A.). During her tenure as national chair of A.R.E.A.A., she has targeted international business and helped A.R.E.A.A. not only increase its membership by 50 percent, but also achieve its own distinct category in the U.S. Census Department’s Quarterly Homeownership report, changing the real estate industry for the better. Vicky has been a member of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® since 1989. She is a former committee chairman of the Global Real Estate Council and a current director of the National Association of REALTORS®, in addition to her service on the Multicultural Advisory Board.
