Winter 2026: Editor’s Note

When REALTORS® combine heart with skill, something special happens. This issue of Chicago REALTOR® Magazine brings this to life through three articles I’m especially excited to share with you.

First up is our 2025–2026 President, Lutalo McGee. His journey is Chicago through and through, grounded in education, community advocacy and a deep belief in what’s possible when you invest in people. Lutalo’s commitment to expanding accessibility and opportunity will shape the work we take on together in the year ahead. His passion for people and attention to detail are truly inspiring.

We also dig into one of the most important business tools you use every day: the MLS. In “Maximizing Your MLS Listing,” you’ll find a masterclass on how strategic timing, precise data input and thoughtful use of remarks and tools like Reverse Prospecting can transform a simple listing into a powerful marketing campaign. Use these tips to honor your reputation and your clients by treating every field as part of your professional brand.

Then, we zoom in on something that connects us all: storytelling. In “How Storytelling Builds Trust and Closes Deals,” you’ll see how Chicago REALTORS® like Caira Button, Ben Cline and Kate O’Neill are using narrative to build trust before a client ever picks up the phone. Whether it’s a YouTube apartment tour, an Instagram deep dive into neighborhood history or a candid post about a tough transaction, they show how stories help people feel seen, informed and confident.

Together, these articles reflect the core of who REALTORS® are: trusted guides through one of the biggest decisions in their clients’ lives.

I hope this issue inspires you to refine your systems and share more of your own story.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out — I’d love to hear from you.
