July’s Special Topic: ADUs

Alderman Bennett Lawson (44th Ward), Acting Chair of Zoning, will join us to discuss Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). As REALTORS®, we support policies that increase ADUs, because they help increase the housing supply, and we firmly support policies that encourage building and construction.

Legislation is under consideration that would expand a pilot program city-wide. You will hear updates about the pilot and learn about the future of ADU policy in the City.

WHAT IS A “GAD”?

Your Chicago Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs Director (GAD) will provide an overview of our current advocacy initiatives and concerns. This is your opportunity to understand how policy is being crafted and what the GADs are doing at City Hall and the Cook County Building. We discuss it all – the politics, policies, proposed laws and personnel impacting your clients and your business. You can also expect occasional drop-ins from elected officials and policymakers.
