Virtual Event
Members: Complimentary
You’re invited to Coffee with Your GAD, an informal meeting to discuss legislative issues affecting the Chicago real estate market!
Following the passage of the Affordable Housing and Economic Development Bond program last year, two ordinances have been introduced to City Council. The first authorizes the creation of a Social Housing Corporation to enhance affordable housing options. This corporation would be led by a Board of Directors, which would include members of the community, including REALTORS®. The second, called the Green Social Housing Corporation, is similar to the first corporation, and would establish a not-for-profit real estate development corporation that would finance, acquire, own and operate, permanently affordable, mixed use and environmentally sustainable housing.
Alderman Villegas will join us at Coffee With Your GAD on Tuesday, March 4th, to discuss these ordinances and answer your questions. Make sure to join us for this free event to get an overview of this ordinance. If you have any additional feedback on these proposals, please contact our Government Affairs Director Adriann Murawski.
Your Chicago Association of REALTORS® Government Affairs Director (GAD) will provide an overview of our current advocacy initiatives and concerns. This is your opportunity to understand how policy is being crafted and what the GADs are doing at City Hall and the Cook County Building. We discuss it all – the politics, policies, proposed laws and personnel impacting your clients and your business. You can also expect occasional drop-ins from elected officials and policymakers.
We want to hear from you too! Coffee with Your GADs encourages two-way dialogue. Come and share what you’re seeing in the market and issues of concern! Please note this will be an interactive and collaborative event among all attendees. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate by having their video turned on throughout the event.
Space is limited. Please click here for more information on CAR’s event attendance and cancellation policy.
