Small Business Grant Initiative Seeks to Support Black Business Owners

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic hit small business owners especially hard, and we want to help provide relief to property owners impacted by the eviction mortarium and businesses shut down due to citywide bans. Throughout 2021, the Chicago Association of REALTORS® will be recognizing and rewarding a select number of small business owners who have made a significant, lasting impact within their communities. If you are a business owner with a brick and mortar location impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we encourage you to apply! Each company selected will receive a $1,000 grant. To commemorate Black History Month and honor these hardworking businesses, our first round of grants will recognize and support Black small business owners. If you are a Black business owner with a brick and mortar location that was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we encourage you to apply! The deadline to apply is Friday, February 5. Winners will be awarded their grant and interviewed by the CAR leadership team during its Black History Month celebration on Tuesday, February 23. Keep an eye out during upcoming heritage months as we unveil further grant opportunities for other minority businesses.
