REALTOR® Parking Permit Quietly Phased Out

The City of Chicago Professional Service Parking Permit was quietly phased out in the Spring of 2018 as a result of dwindling applications and user support. The program was re-launched as a pilot program in April of 2016 as the result of intense advocacy efforts by the Chicago Association of REALTORS®. The parking permit was available to licensed brokers and leasing agents, and allowed for parking in any residential parking permit zone seven days a week between the hours of 9:00AM and 9:00PM. Unfortunately, not enough permits were applied for during the two-year period, thus the City Clerk’s office determined it would no longer continue the program when the pilot expired in April of this year. Please continue to follow parking rules and permitted parking areas to avoid tickets and fines.
