Your vote in the November 5th primary election can ensure that we support candidates who support homeownership and our industry. Your vote will help to advance public policies and candidates that build strong communities, protect property interests and promote a vibrant business environment. We have compiled everything you need to know to be prepared to get out and vote!
Once you’ve ensured you’re registered to vote and have a voting plan, you can use these resources to educate your clients on the importance of voting.
Register to Vote & Check Your Status
Registering to vote only takes two minutes! To register online to vote in the State of Illinois, you must submit your registration by 11:59 PM on October 20, 2024. The online voter registration form can be completed here.
The State of Illinois also allows same-day, in-person registration through election day. This can be done multiple ways by bringing two forms of identification, and one must include your current address. You can do this at multiple locations, including:
- At an early voting location
- At your home precinct on election day
- At a Cook County Clerk’s locations if you reside in Cook County. If you’re looking for information on other counties, click here.
- At a village, city or township clerk
- At an Illinois Secretary of State’s drivers license facility

Make A PlaN
Making a plan for election day is essential in ensuring your voice is heard in the democratic process. When making your plan, the best place to start is determining if you’d like to vote early or on election day. You can find your day of location here, or early voting locations here. Early voting begins in all 50 wards on Monday, October 21.

Vote By Mail
Illinois allows no-excuse absentee voting (voting by mail).
- Click here if you live in the city. The deadline to register to vote by mail is October 31, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
- Click here if you live in the suburbs. The deadline to apply is five days before an election.
Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day to be counted.
