Your vote in the March 17th primary election can ensure that we support candidates who support homeownership and our industry. Your vote will help to advance public policies and candidates that build strong communities, protect property interests and promote a vibrant business environment. We have compiled everything you need to know to be prepared to get out and vote!
Once you’ve ensured you’re registered to vote and have a voting plan, you can use these resources to educate your clients on the importance of voting.
Register to Vote & Check Your Status
Registering to vote only takes two minutes! To register online to vote in the State of Illinois, you must submit your registration 16 days before the election. The online voter registration form can be completed here.
The State of Illinois also allows same-day, in-person registration during early voting and on Election Day. To do so, you will need to bring two forms of identification, and one must include your current address. You can do this at multiple locations, including:
- At an early voting location.
- At your home precinct on election day.
- At a Cook County Clerk’s locations (for Cook County residents only).
- If you’re looking for information on other counties, click here.
- At a village, city or township clerk.
- At an Illinois Secretary of State’s driver’s license facility.

Having a plan for election day is an essential part of ensuring your voice is heard in the democratic process. When making your plan, start by determining whether you want to vote in-person or by mail. If you prefer to vote in-person, you can learn more about your options below. Vote By Mail
Illinois allows no-excuse absentee voting (voting by mail). For more information on how to vote by mail, check out the options below:

- The deadline to register to vote by mail is March 12, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day to be counted.
