Here is a summary of Chicago REALTOR® committees and work groups that welcome volunteers. To successfully apply for volunteer positions, you must be willing to attend committee meetings and actively participate. In most cases you must also be a C.A.R. member in good standing, though there are a few committees that rep-resent a wider range of participants by including non-C.A.R. members.

Business Services Work Group
Business Services Work Group identifies, reviews, investigates and recommends potential services and products to help members prosper. The committee also fosters strong relationships with C.A.R. Affiliate Members.

Forms & Contracts Committee
Forms & Contracts Committee reviews and updates all approved C.A.R. forms and contracts on a regular basis, as well as develops any forms and contracts that will enhance members’ businesses.

CommercialForum Committee
CommercialForum creates educational and networking opportunities that build community among Chicagoland commercial real estate professionals and provide tools for their success.

Fair Housing Forum
Fair Housing Forum provides an open setting for speakers, member involvement and information sharing related to fair housing and anti-discriminatory matters.

Finance Committee
Along with senior management, the Finance Committee provides oversight of C.A.R. financial management and the financial reporting function.

Global Real Estate & Emerging Markets Forum
Forum members foster and provide a platform for international real estate business opportunities. They also seek and create venues for networking with other relevant organizations.

Golf Outing Advisory Group
Advisory Group members focus on strategy and execution of generating sponsorship revenues for the Golf Outing, as well as engaging members to attend.

Government Advocacy Forum
Government Advocacy Forum provides an open setting for speakers, member involvement and information sharing related to government advocacy, public policy matters and related civic matters.

Property Management Forum
Property Management Forum provides an open setting for speakers, member involvement and information sharing related to property management and leasing matters.

RPAC Fundraising Work Group
RPAC Committee members solicit RPAC investments annually. A key focus of the committee is securing Major Investors, as well as broad-based, lower-level investments from C.A.R. members.

Grievance Committee
The Grievance Committee investigates complaints received from the public and members to determine if they have sufficient substance and merit to warrant an ethics or arbitration hearing, or mediation procedures.

Professional Standards Committee
The Professional Standards Committee is responsible for enforcing the REALTOR® Code of Ethics through the conduct of ethics and arbitration hearings.

Professional Development Advisory Group
The Advisory Group identifies professional development topics, classes, events and programs that would be valuable to C.A.R. members and the greater Chicagoland real estate community. Group members also help promote the offerings of the REALTORS® Real Estate School and CAR Foundation.

Young Professionals Network Work Group
The purpose of the C.A.R. YPN is to help young professionals excel in their careers with networking and education.

Precautionary Measures and Information Regarding COVID-19
Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. As COVID-19 is predominantly spread through close contact, out of an abundance of caution, all events through April 30 will be either canceled or postponed, except for Coffee with Your GADs, which will take place virtually. This includes our annual Sales Awards, which we are working to reschedule.
If you have registered for one of our upcoming events, look for an email with further details. All tickets for paid events will be automatically refunded. Please allow 3-5 business days to see the refund on your bank statement. Questions? Please reach out to our events team.
