Union League BGCA’s Youth of the Year Banquet

As part of our ongoing partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Foundation sponsored the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs’ Youth of the Year awards ceremony last week. The Youth of the Year awards honored scholarship awardees as well as the four Youth of the Year Candidates. The Youth of the Year recognition is the highest honor a Club member can achieve, and celebrates youth who have overcome enormous odds and demonstrated exceptional character and accomplishments.

YPN Board Member Lindsey Schendel, C.A.R. Past President Zeke Morris, YPN Chair Erika Villegas, Youth of the Year candidate Saul Arellano, Youth of the Year winner Alexis Hernandez, C.A.R. Past President Matt Farrell, C.A.R. Foundation’s Heather Gustafson, C.A.R. CEO Ginger Downs, Youth of the Year candidate Sarahi Garcia, Youth of the Year candidate Marilyn Gonzalez, and C.A.R. Treasurer Rebecca Thomson.

The Union League BGCA Youth of the Year candidates — Alexis Hernandez, Marilyn Gonzalez, Saul Arellano and Sarahi Garcia — each gave a speech to attendees. Winners are selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, leadership ability and consideration of any physical, social or emotional obstacles they have overcome. Congratulations to Alexis Hernandez, a senior at UNO Garcia High School, on her win. She will go on to the state BGCA Youth of the Year competition. Chicago Association of REALTORS® was proud to be a sponsor of this event and congratulates Alexis on her many accomplishments. Thank you to our board members, staff and volunteer leadership who attended!
