2016 Successful Women in CRE Panel: Women in Construction

On Thursday August 11^th, CREW Chicago hosted its monthly luncheon at Morton’s Steakhouse on Wacker Drive in collaboration with the Chicago Association of REALTORS® CommercialForum, the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, and the Goldie Initiative as the Successful Women in Commercial Real Estate series highlighted Executive Women in Construction for a sold out audience of 100+ attendees. Deena Zimmerman of SVN Chicago moderated the powerhouse panel, which featured Shannon Mangiameli, a senior project manager at Lincoln Property Company, as well as a Goldie Scholar; Kristin Rosebrough, Senior Project Architect and Associate Principal at Perkins + Will; and Rosemary Swierk, President of Direct Steel and Construction. Paramount to the discussion were the opportunities for, as well as the challenges of, a career in Construction. The panelists tackled topics ranging from how they got into construction and amusing anecdotes about “educating the players” during a deal, to trends in office/industrial buildouts, agreeing that clients are asking for amenities and collaborative spaces.
