As Chicago REALTORS®, we act as champions for the real estate industry and our communities. Our Leadership Accelerator takes your leadership potential and, through various trainings, programs and projects, helps to refine and accelerate your leadership capabilities so you can make an even bigger, more effective impact.
Applications open in the fall every year, and the program runs from January through September. Explore the qualifications and what to expect from the program below.
Why apply?
The Leadership Accelerator combines leadership training with the unique needs of REALTOR® associations and real estate companies. Over the course of the program, participants will explore key areas of leadership development, including:
- Executive presence
- Media relations
- Government relations
- Diversity, equity & inclusion
- Leadership pathways
- Strengths Assessment
12 promising and passionate future leaders will be selected to participate in Leadership Accelerator programming as a cohort between January and September each year.
Eligibility & Program Commitment
The Leadership Accelerator is open to Chicago REALTORS® who are ready to deepen their involvement and grow as leaders within the association and the real estate industry.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Hold primary membership in good standing with the Chicago Association of REALTORS®.
- Have held a real estate license for at least three years.
- Have completed at least one year of service on a Chicago REALTORS® committee or industry partner committee.
- Commit to attending and actively participating in all in-person program sessions.
- Commit to completing a group capstone project as part of the Leadership Accelerator experience.
- Upon acceptance, participants are responsible for a $250 program fee.
Leadership Accelerator Participant Can Expect:
- Strengthen communication and leadership skills.
- Learn from real estate industry and REALTOR® leaders.
- Develop deep professional relationships with peer leaders both inside and outside the cohort.
- Collaborate closely with fellow cohort members on a team-based final project, bringing together the skills and insights gained throughout the program.
- Participate in monthly activities between January and September, including events, education and other training opportunities.
- Get behind-the-scenes experiences with a Chicago REALTORS® Board of Directors meeting, Finance Committee meeting, Foundation Trustee meeting, Managing Broker forums, Past Presidents forums and more.
- Redeem credits for up to 12 hours of free CE over the course of the program through REALTORS® Real Estate School.
- Gain priority placement on a Chicago REALTORS® committee the year following the successful completion of the program.
- Cross the stage at the annual Inaugural Gala as you receive your certificate!
