The Chicago Association of REALTORS® proudly presented our 138th Annual Inaugural Gala on Friday, September 24. During the festivities, we debuted our 2021-2022 Board of Directors and honored several members for their contributions throughout the year, including the recipient of the REALTOR® of the Year award.
The REALTOR® of the Year Award recognizes an exemplary industry leader with a minimum 10 years of experience, who is a REALTOR® in good standing and involved in activities at the local, state and national levels.
REALTOR® of the Year: Maurice Hampton, Centered International Realty
Maurice Hampton firmly believes everyone has a purpose, and everyone can make a difference. He has dedicated his career to making a positive impact in his community. As CAR’s 2019-2020 President and owner of Centered International Realty, Maurice has used his platform to promote volunteerism, education, diversity and so much more. An outspoken advocate for creating diversity, equity and inclusion not only in our industry but also in our communities, he’s passionate about investing in underserved neighborhoods and encouraging fair and equal housing opportunities for all. Maurice also gives back through his leadership. He is a longtime instructor at the REALTORS® Real Estate School, where he shares his enthusiasm for subjects such as sustainability, negotiation and international real estate. He brought attention to global practices as the longtime Global Real Estate Council chair. He has also been active on our Finance Committee. At the state level, Maurice has held leadership positions on the Illinois REALTORS® Major Investor Working Group, Political Fundraising Group and Young Professionals Network. Maurice works every day to make homeownership a reality for all and creates strong relationships in the real estate industry and Chicago’s neighborhoods.
