During the festivities, we debuted our 2021-2022 Board of Directors and honored several members for their contributions throughout the year, including the recipient of the Brian A. Bernardoni Public Policy Award.
The Brian A. Bernardoni Public Policy Award is based on the outstanding contributions of a REALTOR® or affiliate member in the public policy, political and/or legislative advocacy area and in keeping with the REALTOR® Party spirit to “Vote…Act…Invest.”
Brian A. Bernardoni Public Policy Award: Nykea Pippion McGriff, Coldwell Banker Realty
Nykea Pippion McGriff was never tapped on the shoulder to an industry advocate, but that didn’t stop her. She began her advocacy efforts early in her career, when she went to Washington, D.C. on her own dime for the National Association of REALTORS® Legislative Meetings. There, she learned how she could use her voice to advocate for private property rights, and she was hooked. Today, she’s the longtime Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Bobby Rush, acting as a conduit between his staff and real estate industry issues. As CAR’s 2021 president, Nykea has used her platform to encourage her fellow REALTORS® to get involved with our advocacy efforts and diversify their networks. It’s impossible not to see her passion in all that she does.
