HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY?
I have been a licensed broker since 2014.
WHY WERE YOU INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO REAL ESTATE?
I was interested in commercial real estate because of its flexibility and the impact it has on our communities.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT IN YOUR CAREER TO DATE?
My biggest career achievement was being named vice president of ACO Commercial. I pride myself on continuing to innovate myself professionally and through my practice, despite the volatility of the market. Additionally, being named vice chair of the Global Real Estate Council is a significant achievement.
WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MOST TO GET WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
Many things have helped me get to where I am today, including, but not limited to, my strength, endurance, family, mentors, ACO team and the various Chicago Association of REALTORS® committees that I have been a part of over the years.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR CAREER?
I love the networking and volunteer opportunities the real estate industry affords me. Additionally, I take pride in the impact we have on our neighborhoods by developing and restructuring them and representing investors and owner-occupants in the sale of their properties.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHERS WHO ARE LOOKING TO TAKE THEIR CAREER TO THE NEXT LEVEL?
The best advice I can give someone is to hold yourself accountable and to know your worth. People will only treat you the way you let them!
WHAT DOES VOLUNTEERING MEAN TO YOU?
Being a CAR volunteer is a constant opportunity to represent myself, my team and our industry of professionals. Being a volunteer allows me to leave a legacy and make an impact on myself, my community and my successors.
WHAT BEEN MOST VALUABLE TO YOU/YOUR BUSINESS SINCE YOU GOT INVOLVED IN OUR INDUSTRY?
The most valuable part of my business has been meeting the amazing members of CAR, including other REALTORS®, staff, delegates and international counterparts.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE WITH US ABOUT YOUR REALTOR® STORY?
I am a bi-lingual (Arabic/English) commercial broker with a law degree. I am a first-generation American and proud daughter of immigrant parents that came to a land of opportunity with a lot of uncertainty and learned the language, raised five children, survived and thrived! Finally, I enjoy volunteering my time with IMD Guest House and Feed My Starving Children.
