Email Fraud Alert: New Phishing Attempt Targets NAR Members

On Sunday, December 9th, the National Association of REALTORS® issued a warning to all members, as they have become targets of fraudulent emails. The email, with the subject line “Help Support Diana Recovery,” appears to be from the REALTOR® Party, and asks for donations for a young girl’s medical expenses. NAR reminds members that it “never solicits donations for personal or individual charities.” If you have received this email, delete immediately without opening. If you have sent money, you are encouraged to submit a complaint with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, directly on its website www.ic3.gov. NAR is working diligently to find and report the sender. NAR’s resources on cybersecurity can be found here. CAR reminds you to take precautions to protect your clients’ information as well.
