The Chicago Association of REALTORS®, the “Voice for Real Estate” in Chicago since 1883, represents over 17,000 members from all real estate specialties including commercial sales, development, property management, appraisal, auctions and residential sales.
On Monday, May 17, Governor Pritzker announced that the eviction moratorium will end in August, and $1.5 billion in aid will be available to help renters affected by COVID-19.
The funding is anticipated to help around 120,000 tenants, who can apply for the grant that will be paid to their landlords to cover unpaid rent payments. Click here for more information and to apply for rental assistance.
The eviction moratorium, which was instated in March 2020, will phase out over the next few months, with the aim to end it in August.
