The Chicago Association of REALTORS®, the “Voice for Real Estate” in Chicago since 1883, represents over 17,000 members from all real estate specialties including commercial sales, development, property management, appraisal, auctions and residential sales.
This week, Mayor Lightfoot and the Chicago Department of Housing announced they would be adding a third round of funding to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program totaling $79.8 million.
This funding will provide up to 15 months of assistance for renters and landlords who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To be eligible for the rental assistance, you must:
Be a Chicago resident
Have suffered job loss, reduced hours or illness caused by COVID-19
Be at risk of housing instability
Have earned less than the maximum household income during 2020 or at the time of application
