The theme of our first Partners Panel, featuring our title company partners, was that real estate is still moving full steam ahead; however some aspects of the transaction will require more time than others. Most notably, lenders are hard-pressed to meet deadlines right now, and REALTORS® need to be prepared for that.
Over the hour-long discussion, our moderator and President-Elect Nykea Pippion McGriff, Dream Town Realty, highlighted four key things REALTORS® should be prepared to do while conducting business during social distancing:
- Get on the phone with your buyers and lenders to make sure the status of your buyer’s loan is in good standing and moving forward.
- While drafting up contracts, communicate with your lending partners about longer closing times as lenders cannot manage 30-day closings in this climate.
- Verify closing options with your clients and make sure they feel safe and protected during closings.
- Do your research. Every deal is going to take a considerable amount of research in order to move forward smoothly.
