Get to know our members who share their expertise to help shape the future of our association and industry!

We chatted with our 2021-2022 Member Care Task Force and RPAC Committee member Trudy Holmes, EXIT True Design Realty, LLC, to find out more about her career path, why she volunteers and more.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY?

28 years

WHY WERE YOU INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO REAL ESTATE?

I naturally love to help people and, as a secretary for a boutique real estate firm, I was always making sure the clients were comfortable, every step was completed and the client knew we were with them in one of the biggest decisions of their lives. The owner noticed and told me I should consider being a REALTOR®.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT IN YOUR CAREER TO DATE?

My biggest achievement to date is opening my real estate office, which allows me to teach my REALTORS® and learn and grow with them.

WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MOST TO GET WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

Prayer, persistence, my love of all things real estate, helping families realize it is possible to own a home and guiding them when buying and selling.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR CAREER?

I enjoy counseling and helping families make the best decision when selling or buying real estate.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHERS WHO ARE LOOKING TO TAKE THEIR CAREER TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Be persistent and find a mentor.

WHAT DOES VOLUNTEERING MEAN TO YOU?

Volunteering on a CAR committee allows me to give back through my love of real estate and help my fellow REALTORS® as best as I can.

WHAT HAS BEEN MOST VALUABLE TO YOU/YOUR BUSINESS SINCE YOU GOT INVOLVED IN OUR INDUSTRY?

Meeting like-minded REALTORS® and getting to know and build a family of caring real estate agents.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT YOUR REALTOR® STORY?

I’m so grateful to be in a position to share my knowledge and let other REALTORS® know I am here to help no matter what.
