What You Shared During the 2019 Listening Tour

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Listening Tour! Your time and input helps make our association thrive. Hearing your thoughts on new ways we can shape our future has been invaluable. We are thrilled to hear we are getting many things right, but also excited to hear your ideas for our association moving forward. Here’s what you shared:

MORE LOCAL EVENTS

You want us to come to you with more hyper-local events – smaller events in each part of the city and West Towns. Programming like Coffee with the GADs and Managing Broker forums were at the top of the request list. We’re working on scheduling more local events in your area for 2019-2020 – stay tuned!

PROFESSIONALISM – MORE OF IT!

You want to see an increased level of professionalism from all Chicago REALTORS®. We’re excited that the National Association of REALTORS® has introduced the Commitment to Excellence (C2EX), a program that empowers REALTORS® to demonstrate their professionalism and commitment to conducting business at the highest standards. We will be actively promoting this program to members. This innovative engagement tool encourages participation in all levels of the REALTOR® organization. It’s not a designation or a course, nor is it a requirement, but it is a benefit available to all NAR members at no additional cost. To get started, log in to http://www.C2EX.realtor and take the self-assessment to measure your professionalism proficiency, the C2EX Competencies. Based on your results, the platform will give you customized learning paths, recommend experiences, and provide tools and resources to increase your knowledge and enhance your skills.

MORE COMMUNITY STORIES

Chicago is a city of many neighborhoods, and we have REALTORS® doing great things in each of them. You want to see more stories highlighting our impact in our communities. You also want to find ways to highlight the positive aspects of our communities in the media – showing a more complete picture of what is happening than what the current local media covers. We will be launching a web portal to gather and promote stories of REALTOR® champions. We will also be launching our diversity committee, which will engage individuals in our 77 city neighborhoods as well as Cicero and Berwyn.

MORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

You’d like to see increased volunteer opportunities, including micro-volunteer opportunities. We are working on creating more opportunities to get involved with the association. Check out our Get Involved page to apply for a committee. Not ready to commit to a year-long appointment? Sign up to be the first to hear about micro-volunteer opportunities as they are launched.
