The FHA released its loan limits for 2020 on December 3, 2019, with just about every county seeing an increase in the highest and lowest-cost loan limits.
Loan limits are calculated so that all counties in one Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) benefit from the highest limit in that MSA. In 2019, the government changed the definitions of some MSAs, meaning 11 counties were removed from their closest MSA and will see a decrease in their loan limits.
