How to Take The Right CE Classes Without Panicking

With the changes to the license law comes updated license renewal requirements! Before you start signing up for classes, take some time to review these changes and how they affect you.

You need to do two things:

  1. Look up what date you received your license. You can do that here.
  2. See where you fall in the four possible license renewal categories below.

I was licensed before February 1, 2018.

AKA, you were issued a Real Estate Broker License ON or BEFORE 2/1/2018. Before September 30, 2020 [Extended from April 30, 2020, as of 3/18/20], you’re required to complete:

I was licensed between February 1, 2018 and August 8, 2019.

AKA, you were issued a Real Estate Broker License ON, or AFTER 2/1/2018 and on, or before 8/8/2019. Before September 30, 2020 [Extended from April 30, 2020, as of 3/18/20], you’re required to complete:

I was licensed between August 9, 2019 and November 1, 2019.

AKA, you were issued a Real Estate Broker License ON, or AFTER 8/9/2019 and on, or before 11/1/2019. Before September 30, 2020 [Extended from April 30, 2020, as of 3/18/20], you’re required to complete (*will most likely be extended to November 1, 2020):

I will be licensed between November 2, 2019 and April 30, 2020.

AKA you were issued a Real Estate Broker License ON, or AFTER 11/2/2019 and on, or before 4/30/2020. Before April 30, 2022, you’re required to complete::

No need to sign up for anything yet!
Your license renewal season will fall between November 2, 2019 and April 30, 2022.

 


UPDATED: As of March 18, 2020, IDFPR extended the license renewal deadline to September 30, 2020 to accommodate the precautions and measures taking place against spreading COVID-19.
