NAREB Releases Black Homeownership Statistics

On Friday, July 28, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) President and REALTIST® Donnell Williams released new information on Black homeownership rates. Based on the U.S. Census Bureau in its 2nd quarter 2020 report, these rates have raised to 47%. This is an increase from the 42% that was stated in last year’s State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA) report.

This increase shows the efforts to address and remove systematic barriers for Black homeownership may be experiencing a positive shift.
