May is Advocacy Month! We advocate for private property rights, pro-business and pro-growth legislation and more. Your voice and your participation strengthen our efforts. We have compiled all of the resources and tips to get involved with advocacy through us and with your local community.
Actively Participate in Our Advocacy Efforts Through These Events
Throughout the year, we host a variety of events focused on advocacy and government affairs.
One of them occurs almost every Tuesday at the beginning of each month. Our Coffee with Your GADs event provides an overview of our current advocacy initiatives and concerns. This is your opportunity to understand how policy is being crafted and what the GADs are doing at City Hall and the Cook County Building. We discuss it all – the politics, policies, proposed laws and personnel impacting your clients and your business. You can also expect occasional drop-ins from elected officials and policy makers.
Our next event is on Tuesday, June 1 at 9:00 AM. Register to reserve your spot!
Washington D.C. is coming to you. This is your opportunity to attend NAR’s Legislative Meetings this month, without having to leave your office! This is a FREE opportunity for all REALTORS®.
From the beginning of the pandemic and throughout 2020, NAR has fought to protect and defend independent contractors and small business owners. NAR is still in the fight! That’s where you come in! Join us in advancing issues important to the real estate profession and the livelihood of REALTORS® at this free virtual event May 3-14!
Get Up-to-Date on the Issues and Legislation Impacting You
We work to protect private property rights for you and your clients, encourage development throughout Chicagoland and promote policy that ensures the safety of property owners/management and tenants.
We have assembled issues that are frequently on our radar and how they impact you. Check out the list here, including affordable housing, RLTO, building codes, rent control and more.
Invest in RPAC – Your Job Insurance
RPAC, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee, is an investment made by you to support pro-REALTOR®, pro-business and pro-growth candidates and legislation. For instance, real estate was deemed essential last year only – and RPAC helped make that happen. Find out more about RPAC here.
