Why Should You Get Involved with the D77?

The D77 Committee is dedicated to amplifying community voices, advancing housing policy and providing access to resources needed for each neighborhood to thrive. This diverse volunteer group is composed of REALTORS® who serve as trusted advocates representing each of Chicago’s 77 communities.

Expectations

This is an outreach role! As an official member of the D77 Committee, you are expected to be the Chicago Association of REALTORS®’ voice and “boots on the ground” within your designated community.

Eligibility:

To be eligible to serve, you must be a Chicago REALTORS® Member (REALTOR®, Affiliate, or CommercialForum subscriber) in good standing and willing to attend committee meetings and actively participate.

Term:

 1 Year 

Meetings and CommitmentS:
  • Attend the Association’s diversity events, such as committee meet ups, annual Chicago 360 event(s), Fair Housing event(s), designated D77 volunteer community outreach days and others as they are announced.  
  • Attend quarterly in-person meetings. Meetings are typically 2-3 hours.  
  • Connect with your local alderpersons to receive and exchange information (e.g. sign up for their newsletter, attend meetings, etc.).
  • Connect with your local chamber of commerce to receive and exchange information (e.g. sign up for its newsletter, attend meetings, etc.).
  • Have or desire civic involvement with your community (e.g. join a neighborhood association, community-based organization, etc.).
  • Have a passion for building communities.
